E-WASTE COLLECTION DRIVE
“Small Initiative, A Powerful Step Towards a Greener Future”
28th October 2026
Mithi Gobindram Public School organised an E-Waste Collection and Responsible Disposal Drive under Special Campaign 6 of the Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE initiative. The campaign aimed to sensitise students and parents to the safe and responsible disposal of electronic waste, minimise its harmful impact on the environment and promote the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Students were encouraged to bring unused batteries, damaged chargers, cables, adapters, earphones, keyboards, mice, electronic toys and other small electronic items to school. A designated collection box was placed outside the school building to facilitate the separate collection of e-waste and promote responsible waste management practices.
Under the guidance of Mrs Hema Chandnani, Eco Club In-charge, an engaging and interactive quiz on e-waste management was conducted. Students participated enthusiastically and demonstrated their awareness of environmental conservation. Mrs Ruchi Singh, Science Teacher, educated the students about the harmful effects of improper e-waste disposal on human health and the environment. She highlighted how electronic waste can contaminate soil, water and air and emphasised the importance of segregating e-waste and ensuring its safe disposal through authorised channels.
Mr Ghanshyam Bulchandani, Secretary of the institution, appreciated the initiative and emphasised that environmental protection is both a social responsibility and a commitment to future generations. He highlighted the importance of nurturing environmental sensitivity and responsible resource utilisation among students.
Mrs Rekha Kewlani, Principal, stated that with the growing use of electronic devices in the digital age, awareness about their proper disposal has become essential. She emphasised that the school's responsibility extends beyond academic learning to developing environmentally conscious, sensitive and responsible citizens.
Mrs Divya Kriplani, Vice Principal, highlighted that environmental protection begins with small everyday habits. She encouraged students and parents to segregate e-waste, ensure its safe disposal and spread awareness within their families and the wider community.
The campaign was a meaningful initiative to unite students, parents and the school community towards a shared environmental goal. It inspired students to become responsible environmental stewards and contribute actively towards a cleaner, safer and greener future.
