MEATLESS DAY SESSION (2018-19)

A session on ‘MEATLESS DAY’ was conducted in Navnidh Auditorium for classes I & II with the blessings of Paramhans Sant Hirdaram Sahibji and under the guidance and motivation of Rev. Siddh Bhauji along with the presence of Mr. Thawar Varlani, Principal Dr. Ajaykant Sharma, Vice Principal Mrs. Rita Gurbani, Co- ordinator, Mrs. Mini Nair, teachers and students. Meatless Day is celebrated on the occasion of birthday of Dada Sadhu Vaswani ji to motivate the students and society to be vegetarian.

Rev.Siddh Bhauji addressed the students with his piece of advice that they should obey their parents and they have to say no to Non-Veg. They can share this with their parents and can refuse non-veg food completely. He further said that eating an egg is indirectly equal to eating a chick which is not good and healthy.

Dr. Ajaykant Sharma, Principal MGPS, started the session by informing the students that Dada Sadhu Vaswani has started the mission of Meatless Day. He explained that eating vegetarian food is healthier as it contains fibre which gives us energy and power. And this energy and power helps us to grow fast. He gave examples of some great personalities like – P.T. Usha and Amitabh Bachhan who are vegetarian. He further explained that eating non-veg will lead to many harmful diseases like Cancer, Diabetes and it is more costly than vegetables.

Mrs. Rita Gurbani, Vice Principal, MGPS, asked few general questions related to animals and birds and students gave answers enthusiastically. Later she explained her point of not hurting / teasing the animals by giving example of mother’s love to their children. She also told the students that we must provide shelter to animals and birds and to give them food. Later she explained the benefits of being vegetarian by eating green and healthy food.

Mrs. Mini Nair, Co-ordinator, MGPS, first discussed some general things about why not to eat non-veg. Later she explained that we can’t live without animals. She gave examples of different animals who have become extinct and endangered. She said that if we consume more non-veg then our body will become fatty later on she showed various healthy vegetarian eatable things like fruits, vegetarians and dry fruits and explained its uses and benefits. At the end she took a promise from the students of not eating non-veg again.
