IN  Mithi Gobindram Public School”

A motivational session on Eco Friendly Deepawali was organized on 1st November 2018 in NHLPS Auditorium, for the students of grade VIII and IX of Mithi Gobindram Public School, in the pious presence of Rev. Siddh Bhauji, Chairman, SHKES, Mr. A.C. Sadhwani, Secretary, SHKES, Dr. Ajay Kant Sharma, Principal, MGPS and very learned and experienced teachers of MGPS.

The session commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and garlanding the portraits of Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Bharti and Paramhans Sant Hirdaram Sahibji.

Rev. Siddh Bhauji, blessed the students with his wise words. He explained that the students must always be fresh, energetic and identify their capabilities and enhance their horizons. Educations breeds honor, wisdom and self-respect in society. He gave the example of Swami Vivekanand who epitomized wisdom, knowledge, peace and contentment. He asked the students to make him their inspiration. He encouraged the students to discover their innate and dormant talent through meditation done in solitude. He guided them that distractions leads to destructions so students must keep away from the evil distractions in society. The ill-use of mobile phones is killing empathy and sympathy and nurturing apathy among people. He also enunciated that when people do not forgive and wish to avenge, then they lose their inner peace.  They divert their focus from significant to insignificant and that leads to their failure.  So spiritual connection with the Almighty is quint-essential to retain the goodness within us. We must be grateful and thankful to people around us. He then underlined the importance of reading newspapers, good eating habits, self-reliance and independence.

Mr. A.C. Sadhwani, Secretary, SHKES addressed the students and focused on a child's behaviour with his mother. He said that a child should always be soft, polite & mild while talking to his mother, later he taught the students how to develop a habit and how to make any task a part of our habit. He stated that if we do any work for 21 days continuously, it becomes our habit and after that we do not have to do it forcefully. He motivated the students to bring it into practice to imbibe good habits and values in life.

Ms. Rita Gurbani, Vice-Principal, MGPS, initiated the session with welcome note and clarifying the motive and objectives of today's session. She highlighted the most important need of the hour, i.e. the celebration of eco-friendly Deepawali. She also drew students' attention towards their duties to aid their mothers in cleaning the house before Deepawali and obeying her orders and instructions. She also motivated the students to utilize their Deepawali holidays not only in celebrations but also to make the best use of the same for academics and for the preparation of the upcoming exam.

Ms. Priya Dewani, TGT-Social Science in her address pleaded with the students to identify their hidden talents, so that they can select their goal accordingly. She focused on the difference between success and failure and stated that a person does not fail when he is not able to accomplish something successfully, but when he accepts his defeat and stops attempting to do something new. She urged the students to be disciplined and to focus on three basis things - commitment, planning and proper implementation of the planning. She asked the students to be regular to school and to come every day with positive thought that they are going to gain same new knowledge every day. She advised the students to read and revise what is taught in the school the same day, find out their own doubts and difficulties and feel free to clarify their doubts from the teachers the next day. She further asked the students to stop procrastination, i.e. last moment preparation. She emphasized on regular and continuous learning and practice. At the same time she also focused on maintaining a healthy life style by eating healthy home-made food, regular exercises and workout or proper rest and sleep.

Ms. Ranjeeta Phulwani, TGT Science highlighted the ill effects of burning crackers during Deepawali and enhanced student knowledge about correct ways of celebrating safe Deepawali. She guided the students to decorate their house in a traditional way by using earthen lamps-not by lighting china made electrical lights. She also drew their attention on towards toxic and poisonous gases and chemicals released on burning various fireworks and their immediate and long run ill-effects.

Ms. Seema Sharma, TGT-Science, NHLPS gave a special presentation with the  help of a PPT, that highlighted basically 16 different chemicals and metals used to make fireworks and its hideous effects on nature, humans and animals.
