      A motivational session on Eco Friendly Diwali was organized on 26th October 2018 in NHLPS Auditorium, for the students of grade I & II of Mithi Gobindram Public School, in the pious presence of Rev. Siddh Bhauji, Chairman, SHKES, Mr. A.C. Sadhwani, Secretary, SHKES, Dr. Ajay Kant Sharma, Principal, MGPS, Mrs. Mini Nair, Coordinator, Mrs. Rita Ahuja,             Co-ordinator, NHLPS, MGPS and teachers.

        The session commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and garlanding the portraits of Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Bharti and Paramhans Sant Hirdaram Sahibji.

The session started with two videos related to Ramayan which showed the reason why do we celebrate Diwali. Students enjoyed watching the videos.

Students of class I Viraj Sadhwani, Roshan Tehlani, Anant Singh Gandhi, Pratik Chellani & Neleesh Sawlani dressed as Lord Rama, Lakshman, Sita, Hanuman and Ravan respectively.

        Rev. Siddh Bhauji motivated the students for inculcating moral values and following our culture and traditions. He placed due importance on prayer and insisted that the students should take the blessings of their parents, elders and teachers which would bring inner strength and peace.

He then emphasized on celebrating eco-friendly diwali and explained the negative effects of burning crackers and how that pollution leads to serious health issues. He also explained the ill effects of sweets which are available in the market and emphasized to go for homemade sweets which are good for health.

Coordinator Mrs. Mini Nair communicated about being respectful towards parents, elders and teachers. She advised students to develop healthy food habits and to avoid junk-food. She explained that regularity, punctuality, respect for teachers & parents and reliance on self-studies are the best elements to combine to ensure a successful student life. She stated that it is important to take care of animals and birds and be sensitive towards the environment. She also explained ways to celebrate green Diwali. How to keep ourself safe and the environment pollution free. She stated that giving clothes to needy people and buying earthen diyas from potters will make their Diwali cheerful and they will give blessings.

Ms. Sonia Raizada, teacher, MGPS, made the children aware about the reason of why Diwali is celebrated. What is the meaning of Deepawali. She also explained the ways to keep oneself safe and why not to burn the crackers. She told the students to eat how made sweets which are healthy and pure.

           Discipline was maintained by the Ms. Roma Lalwani, Ms. Neetu Yadav, Mrs. Uma Mishra, Mrs. Swati Singh and Mr. Bhupesh Pathak.

        Vote of thanks was proposed by Master Samarth Ladhani of Std. II-B under the guidance of Ms. Roma Lawani. A successful compering was done by Ms. Kirti Pathak.
